Sir I Take up Pen to Recommend to Your Honor Col. Martin Parmer as our next Chief Justice in Jasper County as I suppose you have received the Resignation of John Bevil Esquire and the man that Judge Cullin and myself spoke to you about making our next Chief Justice is about to Leave the County I Have nothing More at Present but remain Your Friend Truly

I, Martin Palmer, Chief Justice of Jasper County do hereby certify that Isaac McMahon assessor of said County has made his returns according to law, and is therefore entitled to Eighty Dollars, the amt. requested in his proposals.
