John Martin Palmer and wife, Eliza Shepperd.

John Martin Palmer was the youngest son of Martin Parmer.  A lot of controversy exists as to who John Martin Palmer's mother was.  Some family genealogists insist that John Martin Palmer's mother was Martin Parmer's third wife, Lovisa Anderson Lout.  Other family genealogists insist that John Martin Palmer's mother was Martin Parmer's fourth wife, Zina Kelly.  Both sides present very convincing evidence that supports their positions.  When time allows, we will explore each of these arguments at length providing copies of the primary documents used by each group as evidence.

John Martin Palmer married Eliza Parmelia Shepperd.  Sometimes Eliza Shepperd's middle name appears on records as Pamelia.  Eliza Shepperd was the daughter of Jacob H. Shepperd and Eliza Collard.
