These are transcriptions of the election returns from San Augustine in February 1836 recently located in the Texas State Archives.
In this election; Martin Parmer, Edward O. Legrand and S. M. Blount were elected delegates to the Convention at Washington where they signed the Texas Declaration of Independence.

Free State of Texas

Municipality of San Augustine

 

I do hereby certify that the foregoing

is a true and correct return of the Election

held in the State and Municipality

aforesaid on the first of February last past

for Delegates to attend and represent

this Municipality in the approaching convention

to be held on the first of March next

in the Town of Washington

by which returns it will be seen that

Edward O. Legrand, Martin Parmer

and S. M. Blount were elected

to said Convention. They having

received  the highest number

of Votes.

 

We having been appointed to preside

as Judges of the election aforesaid

according to the law do hereunto

sign our names and seals in testimony

of the same.

was elected one of the Representatives or

delegates to represent this Municipality

in the Convention to convene on the first
